Capstone Project in Virtual Robotics Engineering PBL Project
Travel into the World of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and see how CAD has revolutionized Design and Development of Robots in a Virtual World.
Students explore LEGO Digital Designer, commonly abbreviated LDD, a 3D CAD computer application that LEGO fans can use to design models from an unlimited supply. Students then explore Autodesk InventorĀ® 3D CAD software that offers professional-grade 3D mechanical design, documentation, and product simulation tools. Travel to the Autodesk Gallery in San Francisco, build virtual models using this Software Program, and share creative work with the class. For the Capstone Project, students will create a Clawbot Virtual model in Autodesk Inventor. This is an advanced project that will require teamwork, multiple class sessions and the ability to create a product that shows the students' knowledge, skills and creativity.
This project is brought to you by Erik Amerikaner (CTE) with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team and detailed coordination provided by the Course Team Lead Gayle Nicholls-Ali.
