One of my favorite things to do with and for my family is cook. Without our kids going to school I’ve noticed we need to do a lot more activities together to get us all off devices and interacting with each other. I thought cooking together would be a great opportunity to do some math with my middle schooler. The process of thinking through a recipe and adjusting for the number of servings desired is a great activity to apply some proportional reasoning thinking. You can make this as formal or informal as you would like.
