Discovering the Unit Circle - YouCubed

The Unit Circle is so beautiful and yet such a cognitively heavy topic for most students. Help them make sense of the unit circle with this discovery-based lesson. The only pre-requisite needed is a strong sense of the Pythagorean Theorem and/or Right Triangle Trigonometry (sine and cosine). Having students with a combination of strengths in these topics is the ideal classroom environment as the choice of which path to explore deepens the investigation. At the end of this exploration, students will have created their own Unit Circle for future use and reference. We also can’t wait to see what students create with the Giant GIF’s extension project! Students are free to create their favorite Unit Circle GIF’s on a larger scale and share it online using: #giantgifs
